List of deep conditioners

20 Jul

The ladies over at www.longhaircareforum.com have a deep conditioning challenge they conduct every year.  They compile a list of deep conditioners that the followers of the challenge are using.  I decided to put this list on the blog because I am often asked about what deep conditioner to use.  The list also mentions if a deep conditioner contains protein.  Where it does not state, that deep conditioner is a moisturising one.  I realise that we cannot find some of the deep conditioners in African countries but you can use the list as a reference or use it if you travel overseas or are buying online.  Remember this list is by no means exhaustive – there are probably hundreds more deep conditioners that are not on this list.

Thanks for the list Tendayi.. variety yacho is so much, boggles the mind. Hopefully one day i’ll find the ultimate for me!

It’s actually sad that we have such a limited variety to choose from. Take Pantene for instance, they have a line for relaxed heads which according to some people works very well, but unfortunately…….
Hopefully with Walmart coming soon, we’ll have access to many of these cheaper brands. I also know that the D&L Cholesterol treatment contains Mineral Oil.

I was also wondering about the Walmart deal and what it would mean for us hair product junkies! I have seen the Pantene line. Its called Relaxed and Natural. I have never tried it though.

Its mostly trial and error Carole until you find what works for you!

I’m settled on my deep conditioners, now I am finding it hard to choose a leave -n conditioner.I want to choose between creme of nature lemon grass and rosemary leave in and Elasta QP.They are both good I have to settle on one!!I realised that whenever I blow dry my hair it always got so frizzy!!and then after watching Hairlista’s way of regimen I realised I was missing the leave in conditioner part! and a good one that detangles and moisturises well for that matter. How are your braids doing?

    • Tendayi 21 November, 2011 at 1:24 pm #

Braids are going well 🙂 I was supposed to wash today but its rainy so no motivation! Will have to do it tommorrow. Why don’t you get samples of the two leave ins and then choose when you have used them both. I have the Yes to Cucumbers leave in. I really like it. Its very light.

Creme of Nature leave in isn’t the best :/ left my hair hard as hell and I still can’t figure out why.. …just got it too, never going back to it again.
